Medium Oil Alkyd Resin Based on Grade 1 Fatty Acid
JSB-MO 501-MX60 Medium Oil Alkyd Resin is a premium-quality product based on grade 1 fatty acid, with an oil length of 47%. It is supplied as 60 ± 1% in a solvent blend of mineral spirit and xylene.
This resin offers outstanding properties such as excellent surface and through drying, balanced hardness and flexibility, very good resistance to water, weathering, and detergents, as well as excellent resistance to yellowing. These characteristics make it a suitable choice for a wide range of industrial and traffic coating applications.
This product is specifically used in the formulation of automotive paints, air-drying industrial paints, baking paints, and most importantly, traffic paints, including road marking paints and horizontal traffic signs, based on chlorinated rubber resin. It is also suitable for metal coatings, machinery coatings, metallic paints, and anti-corrosion coatings.
JSB-MO 501-MX60 shows complete solubility in common solvents such as xylene, n-butanol, butyl acetate, mineral spirit, and methyl ethyl ketone. It also provides excellent compatibility with long-oil resins and especially chlorinated rubber resins. Compatibility testing is recommended before blending with other products.
